When an old man died in the geriatric ward of a nursing home in an Australian country town, it was believed that he had nothing left of any value.
Later, when the nurses were going through his meager possessions, They found this poem. Its quality and content so impressed the staff that copies were made and distributed to every nurse in the hospital.

One nurse took her copy to Melbourne. The old man's sole bequest to posterity has since appeared in the Christmas editions of magazines around the country and appearing in mags for Mental Health. A slide presentation has also been made based on his simple, but eloquent, poem.

And this old man, with nothing left to give to the world, is now the author of this 'anonymous' poem winging across the Internet.

Cranky Old Man

What do you see nurses? . . .. . .What do you see?
What are you thinking .. . when you're looking at me?
A cranky old man, . . . . . .not very wise,
Uncertain of habit .. . . . . . . .. with faraway eyes?
Who dribbles his food .. . ... . . and makes no reply.
When you say in a loud voice . .'I do wish you'd try!'
Who seems not to notice . . .the things that you do.
And forever is losing . . . . . .. . . A sock or shoe?
Who, resisting or not . . . ... lets you do as you will,
With bathing and feeding . . . .The long day to fill?
Is that what you're thinking?. .Is that what you see?
Then open your eyes, nurse .you're not looking at me.
I'll tell you who I am . . . . .. As I sit here so still,
As I do at your bidding, .. . . . as I eat at your will.
I'm a small child of Ten . .with a father and mother,
Brothers and sisters .. . . .. . who love one another
A young boy of Sixteen . . . .. with wings on his feet
Dreaming that soon now . . .. . . a lover he'll meet.
A groom soon at Twenty . . . ..my heart gives a leap.
Remembering, the vows .. .. .that I promised to keep.
At Twenty-Five, now . . . . .I have young of my own.
Who need me to guide . . . And a secure happy home.
A man of Thirty . .. . . . . My young now grown fast,
Bound to each other . . .. With ties that should last.
At Forty, my young sons .. .have grown and are gone,
But my woman is beside me . . to see I don't mourn.
At Fifty, once more, .. ...Babies play 'round my knee,
Again, we know children . . . . My loved one and me.
Dark days are upon me . . . . My wife is now dead.
I look at the future ... . . . . I shudder with dread.
For my young are all rearing .. . . young of their own.
And I think of the years . . . And the love that I've known.
I'm now an old man . . . . . . .. and nature is cruel.
It's jest to make old age . . . . . . . look like a fool.
The body, it crumbles .. .. . grace and vigour, depart.
There is now a stone . . . where I once had a heart.
But inside this old carcass . A young man still dwells,
And now and again . . . . . my battered heart swells
I remember the joys . . . . .. . I remember the pain.
And I'm loving and living . . . . . . . life over again.
I think of the years, all too few . . .. gone too fast.
And accept the stark fact . . . that nothing can last.
So open your eyes, people .. . . . .. . . open and see.
Not a cranky old man .
Look closer . . . . see .. .. . .. .... . ME!!

Remember this poem when you next meet an older person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within. We will all, one day, be there, too!

The best and most beautiful things of this world can't be seen or touched. They must be felt by the heart!

Title: Trine Obligations
Author: cmdrtekk
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 749
Series: Transformers G1, pre-earth
Character(s): Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, unnamed Decepticon ground soldiers
Warnings: off-screen death and torture hinted at and or mentioned
Disclaimer The characters portrayed do not belong to me. (Duh!) They belong to Hasbro
Summary: Being in a seeker trine is more than just flying together in combat and the Decepticon lead trine didn’t become lead, nor Starscream Air Commander, by being sweet and cuddly.

This short was written for the first part of The Literary Illustration Challenge in#communityrelations on Deviant Art.

Challenge Parameters: The theme was fan fiction Bromance, rating PG-13 or lower and 750 words max.

I gotta admit, I'm impressed with how this turned out. It has flaws certainly, including a few nasty long sentences, but my initial draft for this piece came in at 1395 words. That was a good 600 plus words to many. I essentially hacked the storyline in half to meet the parameters of the challenge and yet I still managed to keep it understandable in regards to what's going on.

  Title:   Hidden Femme’s Secret
Author:  cmdrtekk
Rating: M/R
Word Count: ~2000
Series: G1 AU
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Jazz, Prowl, Red Alert, Smokescreen
Warnings: Yes.  Gender bending.  Robots who use female pronouns to describe themselves referencing and discussing sexual needs and or intimate acts with each other as well as romots who use male pronouns is present.  I don’t think there’s anything overly explicit in this story though.
Summary:  Crack.  Yeah, so that being said…   In this storyline, Prowl, Smokescreen and Red Alert are all Seeker or Seeker Kin femmes in hiding.  And Prowl currently finds herself in a bit of a bind.  Its crack so the how’s and why’s are pretty much ignored as are several holes in the storyline.
Authors Notes: Wildcard entry for the prowlxjazz anniversary challenge.  This is the 2nd try at this prompt, and the fourth try overall at a wildcard prompt.  And trust me, it is by far the best.  In general the 2000 or so words that make the scenes came rather easily up till they quit.  The ideas are still floating in my head, but the words to get them out are not.  And I am not gonna get that worked up over a piece of crack story like this.

Title:   Dance to Catch
Author: cmdrtekk
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~2500
Series: my own Light Dancing verse (G1 AU)
Character(s)/Pairing(s): Red Alert, Prowl

Warnings: Yes! Robots that use male pronouns to describe themselves, referencing or discussing intimate relationships and or referencing, discussing, or performing intimate acts with each other is present.
Disclaimer: Light Dancing is mine.  Transformers belongs to Hasbro.  All fan fic is done for fun with no profit in mind.

Summary: Prowl and Red Alert discuss Prowl’s desire to catch a berth mate for the night.

Authors Notes: This had been set in my Light Dancing verse (a G1AU). As of right now, I’m gonna say timeline wise this occurs somewhen before the Orginal Scene for the light dancing bunny from which the whole ‘verse was and still is being created from. A Reason To Dance – an AU of my G1 Light Dancing verse (since it is movie verse based) offers an example of actual Light Dancing rather than one of the ‘side effect abilities/talents’ shown in the original piece as well as this one.
